Water Polo has been played on and off at Lyme Regis since 1906, according to recent research by the Lyme Regis Museum. The bathing & water polo club, with its initial pavilion on the north wall can be traced back to 1901 – look between the Tall Ships on the Cobb Wall and you can see the Hut.

Its link with the club is confirmed in an advert from the Sunny Lyme Regis guide for 1908/09.
